Social media

One of the most effective ways of promoting your event is through Social Media. Marketers have taken over social media by storm. With social media’s 1.87 billion users and that number expected to increase to 2.55 billion by 2018 it’s not surprising to see why. If you haven’t started promoting your event on social media you are missing out on a goldmine. Social media will allow you to reach a much larger and targeted audience than ever before. Through this you can reach the people who share common interest with you making it likely for them to be interested in attending your event.

Posters and flyers

HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR EVENT-01Posters and flyers are really effective ways to promote your event. Posters are cheap, effective and can be very quick to implement. The ability to place posters at convenient and busy places will allow you as a business to allocate them strategically. Posters also gather more successful responses from the customers as they easily appeal to those interested. Finally, there isn’t a limit on how many posters you can put up, you can hang multiple posters in one location to increase awareness of your event.

Networking

Networking can be a great way to promote your upcoming event. This is because Networking allows you to meet professionals and people who share common interest; these people may also share their interest in your event with their friends, colleagues or followers thereby creating a bigger buzz for your event. These people will almost become free ambassadors for your event if pitched to them well.

Lead page

HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR EVENT-02Producing lead pages is a little secret within the marketing world. Lead pages are an advertisement web page that has a direct call to action. Linking lead pages to your social media pages and websites are more likely to draw customers in to commit to your event. A lead page must be like an online poster, the information must be direct and well-presented and simple to capture the attention of the customer. Lead pages get better responses if the promotion offers a free gift to all who respond to the call to action. The giveaway gives potential customers an added reason to sign up or attend. Note!! Your give away doesn’t have to be expensive but it must be exclusive

Blogs

Blogs are becoming a fantastic way to promote your events. Writing about the event allows excitement to build up for customers thinking of attending your event. Building anticipation through your blogs is going to get a larger number of people talking about your event. The best bit about a blog is that it is easy to share on social media, thereby getting more people excited. Writing about previous events will also give customers some insight on what to expect from the event and what to do. If you really want to jump into the new trend why not try vlogging, this is similar to a blog but in a video format. This can be very effective as people can watch or listen. It also is popular as its fits in well with peoples increasingly busy lives.

Now we have equipped you with the tools, it’s time to ‘capture em all’ . That was EMH Globals top 5 ways to promote your event. We Wish all the success in your upcoming event and cheers to the next one to come.

Remember your roots

5 NO NO NOA business can’t run without customers, if you agree with me then I will add that it’s absolutely vital to keep your customers happy at all time. However, most companies over time lose sight or undervalue their original customers and focus their attention on acquiring new and potential customers. We at EMH Global believe that this shouldn’t be the case. We believe that an existing or past customer can bring just as much, if not more value to your business than a potential customer. Here are our reasons why we believe that there are great opportunities to be gained by paying attention to our past and existing loyal customers.

Cost

In this time of uncertainty all businesses aim to keep their costs low. It is said that it costs between 4 and 10 times more to acquire a new customer than it does to keep an existing one, some sources also claim it can cost as high as 30 times to acquire a new customer. Once the customer has been acquired, you then go on to the lengthy process of converting them to become a loyal customer. It is therefore cheaper maintaining our existing customers than acquiring new ones. This is because you already know their needs and wants so you can specifically promote to them services and products they will be likely to buy. Whereas approaching a new customer you need to find out their need and wants and market yourself hard to remove them from their current loyal brand.

Word of mouth

5 NO NO NOAn existing or past customer is more likely to recommend your product or service to their friends or family. This is an effective form of marketing simply because there is trust. Trust is a hard and lengthy process for a business and can be very expensive, but a customer recommendation is free and very effective. We can sum this point by stating that the only cost to having a referral and recommendation is to invest in making your existing customers happy. Find out how to keep your customer happy from our blog the pursuit of happiness.

Revenue Goldmine

On average old and loyal customers spend up to 65% more than new customers. This adds a larger portion of revenue to the business. This is because your loyal customers know what they are getting by way of quality and service. New customers are likely to have hesitation in making buying decisions when trying a new product or service. Simply put they are likely to spend less than the loyal customers. Also your current customers will be more enthusiastic to try new products from your business as they have familiarity with your goods therefore leading to an increased spending on your business.

Control the future

Your loyal customers add certainty to your business. This is because with loyal customers you can easily work out the lifetime value of their custom, therefore enabling your business to make a better projection of its future growth. On the other hand with new and prospective customers it can be very hard to predict their long term value to your business as they can switch to a competitor at any time.

REMEMBER YOUR ROOTS 2As I conclude on this topic, Caution!!! We are not suggesting that turn your back on new customers or stop seeking new clients, but it’s important to have a balance, so you gain the benefits of both sides. So! There we go our top reasons to sticking to your roots and never forgetting the people that helped put your business on top.

Cut the chitter chatter

A poster should NEVER have too much text. People do not get amazed by text; instead they are moved by the visuals of the poster. The more Artwork and vibrancy of the poster the more attention it is likely to grab. Once the poster has grabbed the interest of the customer, it is then more likely the customer will in their free time research further about the promotion. A good idea if you’re worried about the lack of information on your poster is to add a QR code, that way after you have captured the prospects attention, they will have a link to research and react to the promotion

Be Bold

The reason Why so many people walk past posters without noticing it is because most of them are very generic. When creating a poster, it is important not copy trends. When you do that your poster falls in the pit with the other generic posters. Take risks and break the rules, and that way you will capture the attention of many.

Know your prey

You can’t capture the attention of anybody if there is no audience in mind. It is vital that you know your target audience so you design your poster to capture their attention. To capture the attention of your target audience you have to use language and design concepts that your target audience can relate to.

Choose your colours wisely

The choice of colours are often overlooked, however colours can be very powerful within a poster. They have the power to affect feelings and emotions. Again the colours used should be based on your target audience. Using different colours can convey an array of different emotions, this will allow customers to like and feel a certain way which is aimed to draw them into responding positively to the promotion. It is vital to look at the psychology of colours when choosing your colours. This will help you make the right decision on the correct colour palate for your Poster.

Keep it organised
Finally, the last top tip is to keep your poster layout organised, how your poster is designed can reflect on your business or event, so it is important to keep it as organised as possible. You can keep your flyer organised by starting the poster from top to bottom with the most vital piece of information at the top, and follow through with information of lower priority.

Finding the right word

FINDING THE RIGHT WORDSSearch engine optimisation (SEO) may sound complicated but it’s easier than you think. SEO is what helps your website gain a higher position on search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. As a business it is important to aim to be ranked in the top 3 positions as the chances of your page being seen gets slimmer the further down you are on the list. This blog will cover the basics in choosing the right keywords or phrases that match with your services to help your SEO.

A keyword/phrase is a word that describes your product or service. This word determines where your ad appears on search engines. Usually the more relevant and quality your keyword is, the better the chances of reaching your target audience. However, the more popular your key word is, the more competition you will face with its usage, you may even have to pay or bid for it in order to gain the desired ranking on search engines.

5 NO NO NOAudience
Determining your audience is a very important factor to consider when choosing keywords or phrases. Choosing more specific key words will narrow down your audience, however you will reach people that are interested in buying your product or service. Keyword planner is a good tool to use to find the most common phrases your audience are using to search your type of product or service. You can be more creative with your keywords by adding negative matches and broad match modifiers.

Also being aware of the demographics of your audience is important as each community may use different keywords. This means adjustment of certain keywords and phrases may have to be done to fit the audience. Again keyword planner is good for finding out the different variations of keywords used in each location

FINDING THE RIGHT WORDS2Jargon
The type of Jargon used in keywords is something you must consider very wisely. When people research they usually don’t use jargons. It is best to avoid jargon and make the keyword or phrase as simple as possible. However, this does not apply to all keyword users. Some businesses may have very specific products or services and may need the jargon to describe the service. When creating keywords, it is best to consider a range with jargon and without. This way you can cater to all your audience and hopefully increase traffic to your website. If in doubt as to the right keywords to use, again I suggest you use your keyword planner.

5 NO NO NOLong tail
Long tail keywords are very specific words linked to what you are selling this is usually used by people looking for a specific product or service. You may want to consider using jargon in long tail keywords this is because they are more specific. Using long tail keywords may narrow your audience; however you attract more people that are interested in your product or service thereby offering a higher opportunity for conversion. Using negative words and broad match modification can also make your search more specific.

Competitive
Common keywords are usually very competitive and must be used advisedly, this is because the more competitive the keyword the less likely your service or product will show up on the search results especially if other factors of your SEO are not up to scratch. Competitive keywords can also be expensive to use as you will have to pay or bid for them in order for your service to be ranked above your competitors. It is important to make your keywords more specific to allow less competition however, if your website and SEO is of good standard some search engines will naturally rank you higher or offer you a reduced cost for your keywords.

So! There you go, you should be ready now to start planning your keywords for your fantastic website so you can attract more clients. If you would like to learn more on SEO, please leave a comment below.

5 No! No! No! About your website

WEBSITE BLOG - HEADERWe at EMH have been producing quality client-focused websites for over 13years, Our experience over the years has helped us to pick up certain fundamental web design errors applied by many web developers or requested by clients which we have termed “your website No Nos” These features even though may be popular and attractive don’t add value and could potentially drive away your prospects. Surprisingly we go through thousands of websites daily that seem to be breaking our no! no! rule. In this blog we will share what we have compiled at EMH as our top 5 most common no nos.

Big Logos

2I do not understand why some companies feel the need to insert a large image of their logo on their websites. Yes it does represent the company’s brand image and morals, but it doesn’t need to take up the whole face of the website. Reducing the size of your logo will allow you to add more content to the beginning of the page; remember you only have 8 seconds to impress visitors to your website, so rather than showing off about who you are, use the top space to give them more information about how your product or service could help meet their needs. Note that, your logo will not entice a customer to do business with you.

Poor navigation

3A Big No! No! No! When it comes to website creation is having poor navigation. Usually a website that did not undergo proper planning during its design stage will not offer a smooth flow from one link to the other. This can be a deterrent for prospective customers and result in unnecessary loss of business to the company. Remember that consumers today are very busy and would quickly leave your site to your online competitor that offers the same service.

Mobile Compatible

4Not having a website that is mobile compatible is A Big No! No! No! Since 2014, mobile devices have become the primary platform that people use to access the internet, overtaking the traditional desktops. A mobile friendly website is fundamental if you want to maintain your business’s position online. It is important to have your website designed to work smoothly on both the traditional desktop and mobile devices. I will like to caution here that having a poorly designed mobile website can also really deter customers. If you want to find out more about mobile websites read our key points to making a good customer-focused mobile website from our previous blog Click here.

Rotating sliders

5Rotating sliders are so 2005, but people still use them to this day. This is a Big No! No! No!  Sliders are used on most websites, but they don’t actually help your website when it comes to delivering value and converting visitors into leads. I must be honest and say that to date, EMH gets clients insisting we develop for them websites with rotating sliders. We discourage rotating sliders for your website because they offer very little information about the product or service and take up lots of space. Wondering what to do? It’s time to jump ship and head to the modern trend called VIDEO. Videos have the highest engagement and return rate of any content form. It’s a great way to show off your business and everything the buyer can gain from doing business with you.

Slow speed

6You have 8 seconds to impress a prospective customer to your site before they leave to the next site. 8 SECONDS! This includes site loading time. Some web developers love to add all these pointless effects, which may look cool but may seriously add to the loading time of your page. I agree it is important to have a page that stands out but it is better to have a balance. Add what is necessary and get rid of things that aren’t, so your website can be accessed fast. The faster your website loads, the more likely users will stay on your website. Remember 8 SECONDS!

So!!! Once again here we go with our Big No! No! No! to your website. We have been creating Websites for over 13 years and have gained the expertise to understand and know what works and what doesn’t when it comes to your website design. It is important to be innovative instead of being a trend follower which could potentially lead you in the wrong direction. Getting to the position where customers choose your product over competitors will require client happiness with your business. Business strategies

Customer happiness is vital to meeting your business aims and objectives. Some of the common goals for most businesses are survival, increased profit, growth or increasing market share. All of these common goals can be achieved through the application of one key ingredient; happy customers. Focusing on your customer’s happiness will allow you to get a step closer to meeting your business aims and objectives.

Negative press

We will all agree that a negative press and customers will almost certainly lead to the death of your business. Once a bad image has been associated with your brand, it is difficult to change that perception. To avoid this, it is critical to have a customer focused organizational culture where your customers are always made to feel happy. These customers in time of crises will become the goodwill ambassadors of your brand or business, sharing their positive experience with your business to the world.

Cost of happiness

bussinesI love the saying that “The best things in life comes in small packaging”. That is very true if we consider how insignificant it may seem on the importance of keeping your customers happy, yet when done right the massive positive impact it can have on your business. Keeping your customers happy can produce the same effect on your business as a company that has invested a million-pound on its marketing budget. It costs five times as much to attract a new customer than keeping an existing one so keeping your customers happy will save you money and time, as a happy customers will buy continually from you, become your brand ambassador and act as your unofficial sales personnel.

That’s it! I hope that from today you will see your customer’s as friends and business partners, ensuring they are happy with your services at all time. This may seem like a very basic tip however this is mostly over looked by business owners on their websites. It is important to make sure that your social media button/icons are visible on your website so your visitors can link to the relevant social media site. Having visible social media icons will allow visitors to your website to quickly like or share your social media page. How to choose the right video production company

How to choose the right video production companyCorporate Videos has been proven to Boost Brand Reputation, Customer Engagement and Revenue Opportunity for Small and Medium Businesses. But choosing the right video production company that will offer this service can be tricky. To help you overcome this challenge we at EMH have put together 5 basic steps for you to consider when choosing a video production company to produce your next video content

Social Media Share
If this information looks useful, please share with your friends or leave a comment below. We love to read your feedback.

Define

Before you even start thinking of which company to use to produce your video, let us start by defining what you want to achieve from the video. Ask yourself the following questions

  • Why you want a video
  • What are you going to do with it
  • Who is the video aimed at
  • What style or character do you want your video to have
  • What actions are you expecting from those who watch your video
  • Lastly, do you have an idea of your budget

Experience

Once you have defined your video needs we advise that you research the market and start shortlisting your preferred video production companies. Whilst doing this the first key thing to look out for is their experience. Remember that the production company you choose is going to work with you to create a video that will represent you and your brand, so it is important you choose a company that has the right expertise to do just that.

Production style

Now that we are confident with their expertise, the next important step to consider is to see if their production style matches the message you are trying to convey in your video. Each video production company have their unique style of production and this usually is influenced by the type of equipment’s used, music, editing style, camera shots etc. There is no right or wrong video production style; it all comes down to personal preference. Watching a few sample videos from your chosen production company will allow you to get a basic idea of their style and versatility.

The team

The next step to follow when choosing the right video production company for your project is to get to know the team who you will be working with. This is important as the attitude of the team can greatly influence your project positively or negatively. Below are some key positive traits to look out for.

  • Creative and innovative
  • Enthusiasm for your project.
  • seek to deliver a project they are proud of
  • freely share their knowledge and expertise
  • flexible
  • customer focused
  • clearly define what they are offering you

Pricing

It is interesting to note that many will put this step as number one on their list but we advise that this step is put last. This is because price is determined by various factors such as the type of video you want produced, the expertise and reputation of the production company you choose etc. In saying this, we are not also suggesting that one should be extravagant or meagre on their budget. Just be reasonable and work within your means. Sometimes it is advisable to discuss your budget upfront with your production company. A good production company will suggest ways they can work within your budget.
